Chon-Chon and More: Creating A Lasting Impact On and Off Screen w/ Carlos Carrasco


Kick off the Los Artículos event with an exclusive, hands-on workshop led by the legendary Carlos Carrasco. Known for his dynamic roles and extensive experience as an actor, producer, and director in Hollywood, Carlos will guide participants through an immersive exploration of acting techniques, storytelling, and the nuances of character development. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from a master of the craft and gain insights into the film industry from someone who has truly seen it all.
 Meet & Greet with Carlos Carrasco: After the workshop, enjoy a special Meet and Greet session with Carlos from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. Take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to connect, chat, and snap photos with the multi-talented artist.

Exhibition Launch & Art Panel featuring Jesse Borrego and Carlos Carrasco


Experience the vibrant Latino/a/x/é Exhibition, featuring works by Hispanic artists from across Texas, followed by a panel discussion with Jesse Borrego, Carlos Carrasco, Cindy Pedraza of CocoAndré, and TK Tunchez of Las Ofrendas on the impact of Hispanic art. Enjoy vendors, a silent auction, and music from DJs Beats of Burden, Gold-bloom, and El Davis. VIP Tickets: Enjoy an exclusive hour with Jesse Borrego (Cruz) and Carlos Carrasco (Popeye) at 5:30 PM, including early entry, photo ops, an autograph session, a special gift bag from Modelo Oro, plus complimentary food and drinks.

Blood In, Blood Out Experience: Screening, Special Guests & Live Music


Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a special screening of the cult classic Blood In, Blood Out (1993), featuring a live appearance by one of its stars, Carlos Carrasco. Before the film begins at 6 PM, explore an outdoor lowrider car show with South Austin Custom & Vintage Bicycle Show, along with local vendors like Mary Jae, Empoderadas Gym, THIC Threads, and
Tiers Treats, plus art displays showcasing the community's creativity. Afterparty: Continue the festivities at 9 PM with an afterparty featuring a live performance by local band Eterno Scroll and a sneak peek of the ACL lineup with Midnight Navy.

Live Performances

Get ready to experience an unforgettable fusion of sounds and styles as we bring you live performances that push boundaries and celebrate culture. After the Blood In, Blood Out screening, lowrider car and bike show, and art exhibition, the afterparty kicks off at 9 PM with two incredible acts that will take you on a musical journey.
 

Midnight Navy

Midnight Navy is a dynamic singer-songwriter, producer, and saxophonist based in Austin, Texas. His eclectic musical style spans Chicano soul, alternative R&B, and psychedelic indie pop, all woven together through a unique lens shaped by his Mexican heritage and love for pop culture. Midnight Navy's latest EP, "De Melón," is a homage to his Chicano roots, featuring bilingual vocals and vibrant percussion that explore the theme of finding love in the digital age. Recently featured at South by Southwest, Midnight Navy is set to perform with Luna Luna, La Doña, and Rudy De Anda this fall, as well as during Austin City Limits (ACL) Weekend 1. His lead singles have been spotlighted on Remezcla’s “New Songs to Listen to This Week.” A deluxe version of "De Melón" is set for release this fall—don't miss the chance to catch his soulful melodies live! Eterno Scroll

Eternoscroll blends psych and reggaeton into a genre-defying sound that breaks musical conventions. Hailing from El Paso, Texas, this trio—Jose Luigi (vocals/guitar), Daniel Jaramillo (drums), and Michael Robles (bass/backup vocals)—has crafted an experimental style that culminated in their debut album, Perreándola. This 17-track album takes listeners on a deep dive into societal and personal struggles through the lens of experimental reggaeton, offering a transformative experience that explores self-discovery in the face of modern challenges.
